Summer break is less than a month away and some teenagers looking for a part-time summer job may have a hard time.

According to a new report by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, more teens are focusing more on furthering their education.

Teen hiring in 2017 was the lowest since 2015. The report also predicts teen hiring to be lower this year than last year.

Teenagers looking for jobs are facing obstacles, such as the loss of retail jobs. This is because shopping continues to shift to online.

Two industries still looking to fill positions are the food and tourism industries. These are proving to be more promising for teens looking to make some money over their summer vacation.
