Fire damages kitchen of Inman restaurant

INMAN, S.C. (WSPA) — Authorities are investigating a fire that damaged an restaurant early Wednesday morning.

The fire was initially reported at Lake Bowen Country Club, but was actually next door at Big Belly Burgers.

Both businesses are located in a strip at 2870 Highway 292 near Highway 9.

New Prospect Fire Chief Phil Caruso said the fire caused heavy damage to the restaurant kitchen. It did not spread to neighboring businesses, he said.

New Prospect, Boiling Springs and Inman Community Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to the fire.

No one was injured in the fire, Chief Caruso said.

The cause of the fire was undetermined as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.
