SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — A Spartanburg restaurant is expected to remain temporarily closed after an early-morning fire.
A fire was reported just after 4 a.m. Wednesday at Ricky’s Drive-In on Union Street.
Fire marshal William Smart said crews found fire coming from the eaves on the side of the restaurant.
Most of the fire was in the back of the kitchen near an electrical closet.
Smart said the restaurant was heavily damaged and is expected to remain closed for a while.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Ricky’s Drive-In has served up hot dogs, burgers and breakfast for many years.
The current owner told Smart the restaurant has been in business at least 35 years.
