A former Clear Springs firefighter is suing the fire station and the county after he says he was wrongfully terminated for expressing concern about actions inside the fire house.

Clayton Beason says several times over 2016, he along with other firefighters spoke out about improper treatment of employees based on political factors and rumors of embezzlement of Clear Springs resources.

Beason says he also spoke out about favoritism and nepotism regarding the husband of a board member who was promoted to positions he wasn’t qualified for.

Beason says he was fired for speaking out about all of the above issues.

The firefighter is asking for back and front pay, as well as benefits and punitive damages.

Two fire chiefs for Clear Springs were arrested in 2016 for Embezzling money from the department.
