First solar farm to be built in Union Co.

UNION, SC (WSPA) – A company in Greenville is set to build a solar farm in Union County.

Pacolet Milliken Enterprises, a private investment group out of Greenville, is launching a new solar energy project in Union County that’s expected to bring $12 million in capital investment in 2019.

The renewable energy company called Midway Green Solar LLC,  will be located adjacent to Midway Green Industrial Park in Union.

This will be the first solar farm in Union County.

Governor Henry McMaster said he’s excited about the new project, and the benefits a growing energy industry will have on South Carolina.

“To see this partnership continue to grow shows that the hard work of so many men and women will continue to benefit local communities and the state,” McMaster said.

Pacolet Milliken says the new energy project is expected to come online in the second quarter of 2019.
