Fishing tournament raises money student vision program in Greer

GREER, SC (WSPA) – Over $10,000 was raised as part of the second annual Greer Centennial Lions Club bass fishing tournament, Saturday afternoon.

The money from the tournment goes to a vision voucher program used to help students without insurance get eye exams and glasses. 

Brady Thornton and Brent Thornton won first place in the tournament with a total haul of 18.06 pounds and took home $1,000.

The $1,000 award for biggest fish went to Logan Young and Ricky Hall for their 4.43 pound fish.

The event was held at Lake Robinson and featured over 80 fishermen.
