Florence causes tree damage and power outages in Upstate

As Florence makes its way inland, much of the Upstate has been affected by power outages and damage from the storm.

Wind gusts are causing many trees to fall and block roadways, in places like Cater Lake Park in Anderson and Sherwood Forest area in Greenville.

Utility safety specialists say to stay safe from fallen power lines by avoiding anything touching a line and keeping an eye out for fallen lines hidden in debris or water.

Many residents and drivers say they were expecting the storm damage to be worse than what they’ve been seeing.

Duke Energy has help from about 20,000 utility workers from different companies who have come from as far as Texas to help.

Entergy Arkansas says its first call this morning was to York County where a fallen tree on Liberty Street caused a major power outage to a Walmart and several shopping areas.
