BUNCOMBE COUNTY, NC (WSPA) – A former Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office employee was arrested Thursday on six counts of misdemeanor sexual battery.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, Charles “Josh” Wilhelm was charged following an SBI investigation that began in January this year.
The investigation was reportedly initiated after a sheriff’s office employee made a complaint to the sheriff’s offce.
Wilhelm’s employment was later terminated on Jan. 22, 2018.
According to the release, Wilhelm was processed and released on an unsecured bond.
Wilhelm had reportedly worked at the sheriff’s office since 2004.
