(WSPA) – A former Clemson baseball player has died five days after he was in an ATV accident.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said 19-year-old Blake Holliday died Tuesday from injuries in an accident.

Troopers say the accident happened around 2:54 p.m. Thursday on Major Road.

Lance Cpl. Justin Sutherland with the S.C. Highway Patrol said Holliday was headed east on Major Road when the ATV he was driving ran off the right side of the road and hit a ditch. Holliday was thrown from the ATV, according to troopers.

He  was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The coroner’s office said he died of head trauma.

Holliday was a redshirt member of the Clemson baseball team during the 2016-17 academic year and then transferred to Erskine College in the fall, according to the Independent Mail.
