Fmr. NFL player tackles man accused of peeping into daughter’s window

WELLINGTON, Fla. (WCMH) – An Ohio man was arrested Monday morning after police in Florida say he was accused of peeping through a girl’s bedroom window.

According to an incident report, it happened around 7am Monday at a home in Palm Beach County.

The girl’s father told police he caught a man looking through his daughter’s window and. The father said the man had a hand in his pants and was making sexual motions.

The man, identified as 48-year-old Geoffrey Cassidy, took off running, according to the report. He only made it about 50 yards before being tackled by the girl’s dad, former NFL cornerback Tony Beckham.

“My reaction is, I don’t want him to get away,” Beckham told WPTV. “We had a good conversation for 20 minutes. We had a good conversation.”

Cassidy’s booking photo shows bruises on his face. According to the incident report, he suffered a second zygomatic arch fracture and a fracture of the right medial orbital wall.

“Who else is going to take care of them? They’re my kids. I grew up without a dad, you know what I’m saying? To see a man out there belittling himself to get a fix off a kid? That’s morally wrong to me,” said Cassidy.

Cassidy told police his car broke down in the area and he was walking through the neighborhood to let him and his car cool down. He refused to say where the vehicle was. He told police he is a transient from Ohio.

Cassidy was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. He is charged with lewd lascivious behavior with a victim younger than 16.
