(WSPA) — Another official with ties to South Carolina may be picked to serve in President Donald Trump’s new administration.
The Post and Courier reports that Catherine Templeton is one of Trump’s top picks as Labor Secretary. They’re expected to meet when the president visits North Charleston on Friday.
Templeton was director of the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control after she served as head of the state Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
Templeton is a labor lawyer who specialized in fighting unions. In December, Templeton confirmed that she had met with Trump and called the meeting productive, saying she would help anyway she could.
Trump is scheduled to visit the Boeing plant in North Charleston on Friday. Workers at the plant rejected an effort to unionize on Wednesday.
