GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Greenville County deputies are searching for a former high school tennis coach charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to a Greenville County Sheriff’s Office news release, investigators obtained a warrant for Brian Gem Garrison, 47, after an investigation into reports of Garrison potentially having inappropriate contact with a student at Eastside High School.
An investigation revealed that Garrison, an adjunct tennis coach at Eastside, reportedly gave tobacco products to the student, as well as gave the student a cell phone to find a way around discipline from their parents.
Greenville County Schools confirmed Garrison was a former tennis coach at the high school. His last day of employment with the school system was March 18, 2019. He was hired in July of 2012.
Beth Brotherton, a spokesperson for the school system, said Garrison worked as a substitute physical education teacher from January 1993 through April 1993, was an adjunct coach at Carolina High School from 1996 to 2001 and substituted eight days during the 2005-2006 school year.
