Garth Brooks announces 2019 stadium tour

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Country superstar Garth Brooks announced his 2019 stadium tour Wednesday morning at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Brooks is planning 10 to 12 live concerts a year for the next three years at stadiums across the country.

On Saturday, he’s performing at Notre Dame Stadium, which seats more than 77,000. The show will be recorded to air at a later date.

The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis will launch his 2019 North American stadium tour.

The tour will include concerts at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, plus one in Texas and possibly one in New England. Locations have not yet been announced.

The superstar admitted, “I’m scared to death to play stadiums.”

Brooks also promised that tickets will go on sale before Christmas for stadium concerts in five cities.

His team is making changes to staging and looking for ways to connect with the people sitting farthest away in huge venues.

“You’re scared to death that they’re not going to show up,” Brooks said. “Then you’re scared that they did show up.”

Brooks also announced in July that a new album would be released in 2019, his first since his 2016 release, “Gunslinger.”
