Gateway Access Rd. to shutdown for 60 days June 19 in Greenville

(SCDOT NEWS RELEASE) – Gateway Access Road (the old Chrome Drive) will be shut down for 60 days, starting on Tuesday, June 19.  This time will be used to complete the tie-in of the new Gateway Access Road to Roper Mountain Road as part of the Gateway Project.

During this time, there will be extensive fill operations followed by new curb and gutter, new sidewalks and new asphalt placement.  This area will be brought up to match the existing grades in the area and will do away with the low area that currently exists, just prior to Roper Mountain Road.

There will still be access from Garlington Road to allow patrons to get to both Gateway Supply and the H.A.L.T. businesses. Please see the attached map for details.

Drivers need to be mindful that there will be heavy construction traffic in this area. There will also be periodic flagging operations on Roper Mountain Road at both day and night. While this Detour is in place, drivers are asked to be attentive and obey all signage and Traffic Control Devices that are in place.
