McMaster: SC attractions to reopen May 22; youth and adult sports can start practicing May 31


COLUMBIA, SC (WSPA) – Gov. Henry McMaster announced Wednesday that attraction facilities will be allowed to open throughout the state starting on Friday, May 22.

According to a news release, the following attraction facilities will be allowed to reopen Friday:

  • Zoos
  • Museums
  • Aquariums
  • Planetariums
  • Historic buildings and sites
  • Waterparks
  • Amusement park rides
  • Go-Kart tracks
  • Bingo facilities
  • Miniature golf facilities

McMaster also announced that all youth and adult sports leagues will be allowed to begin practicing on May 31.

According to the release, competitive play will resume on June 15.

According to the release, the governor did not take any action prohibiting day camps in the state. The Department of Social Services and the Department of Health and Environmental Control have established guidelines for those planning to hold camps this summer.
