Greenville City Councilwoman runs for State Senate

Lillian Brock Flemming, Greenville County District 2 Councilwoman announced Tuesday that she is running for State Senate.

She’s made her official announcement Thursday night at her home surrounded by family, friends and community members.

Flemming ran for the State Senate District 7 Seat in 2012 against now Senator Karl Allen. Then, she lost by a narrow margin. She said in the last election, not many people showed up to vote, and that’s what she wants to change this time. She said she plans to spend her time in the community talking to people, focusing on uniting the community and expanding resources to the area.

Flemming is a former math teacher and has served on the council for more than 35years. Her husband is the head of the Greenville County NAACP.

Her campaign will have a kick-off event on April 16th.
