A Greenville County Deputy has been placed on administrative leave after an arrest over the weekend.

Charles Cunningham was arrested by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources early Sunday morning. Cunningham was charged with Boating Under the Influence with injury.

DNR says that Cunningham was operating a boat that ran into another boat on Lake Hartwell close around midnight.

Two people were injured in the boat that was hit and were taken to the hospital, but have since been released.

Cunningham received a PR bond and has been released.  The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office terminated Cunningham on Tuesday. Cunningham has been a deputy with the department for 10 years.

DNR says the investigation is still ongoing into the incident.
