GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Body cameras and community policing were some of the issues discussed Thursday night in a forum attended by Greenville’s police chief and the county sheriff.
Sheriff Will Lewis and Chief Ken Miller fielded questions and comments from residents at the Saint Anthony of Padua Church. The forum was organized by the Young Democrats and moderated by 7News Reporter Eryn Rogers.
Both Lewis and Miller described the forum, which lasted about an hour and a half, as productive.
“What I heard from the community was a community interested in understanding our work, functions and initiatives much more than I was aware of prior,” said Chief Miller.
“There were relative questions, there were tough questions, but questions that we need to answer especially from a law enforcement perspective, said Sheriff Lewis.
Forum organizers say they hope to host another one of these events in the near future.
