Greenville woman found dead on train tracks


GREENVILLE Co., SC (WSPA) – Authorities are investigating the death of a woman found dead on train tracks in Greenville.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Ernestine Gina Dixon, 57, of Greenville.

She was found in the 1100 block of West Washington Street and pronounced dead by emergency responders around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Dixon reportedly had injuries consistent with being hit by a train.

According to a news release issued by the coroner’s office, the cause and manner of death are pending as of Tuesday night.

An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday. 

Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigators are also investigating her death, along with Norfolk Southern Police.
