Greenville’s Sandi Morris injured in Olympics after breaking pole

(WSPA) – Greenville native Sandi Morris was injured while participating in the Olympics, she announced on Twitter Monday.

She explained that when she broke the pole, her hip flexor was extended. She is being observed by medical staff and is recovering.

“I’m devastated… but I’m going to be ok,” she said.

She posted this note on Twitter, detailing what happened:

She updated Wednesday saying she will not need surgery.

“My MRI came back with promising news – grade 2 strain to a few different muscles in my hip region. NO tears!!” she said.
