Greenwood boy raises thousands to help baby brother

GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) — Andrew Emery’s wish was to be a big brother. Six months ago, that wish came true for the Greenwood boy.

His baby brother, Dylan, was born.

The family recently learned Dylan has a rare and terminal neurological condition called Krabbe disease. While they pray for a miracle, the family is headed to Pittsburgh for medical care and Dylan’s parents won’t be able to work.

Andrew, 9, is also stepping up to help his baby brother.

Over the weekend, he sold lemonade to raise money for a campaign called Team DYLAN.

He raised $6,000 in two hours.

“I am gonna help pay his doctor’s bills and buy him a teddy bear,” Andrew told CBS News.

As of Wednesday morning, more than $24,000 has been raised.
