GREENWOOD CO., SC (WSPA) – The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office’s announced their office’s newest four-legged deputy Friday.
K-9 Loki is a one and a half year old German Shepard that was donated to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office by a couple in Hodges.
Loki has been assigned to Deputy Matt Noblin and has been trained in tracking, building search, open area search, criminal apprehension, and narcotics searches.
Sheriff Dennis Kelly says Matt and Loki are the “cornerstone for what’s to be a team of patrol K-9s to compliment the Bloodhound Tracking Team with specific skills that the Bloodhounds do not posses.”
In addition to Loki, the sheriff’s office has four Bloodhounds and one Bavarian Mountain Hound.
