LAURENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – A Greenwood man has been charged with child sex crimes in Laurens County.

24-year-old Daniel Lee Johnson is charged with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Deputies say they were contacted by the Greenwood Police Department and the Eighth Circuit Solicitor’s Office who said that Johnson admitted to having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor in Laurens County.

According to warrants, Johnson offered money to get the victim to perform a sex act in July 2018. He is also accused of coercing the victim into oral sex and sending nude pictures to and receiving nude pictures from the victim, warrants say.

“We are pleased to have worked closely with the Solicitors Office, as well as Greenwood Police Department to help put this child predator where he belongs,” said Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds. “Anyone who could harm a child has no place in our society other than jail!”

Johnson is being held in the Johnson Detention Center in Laurens County without bond.
