Greer man charged in child pornography investigation in Spartanburg Co.


SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) -Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested a man on multiple sexual exploitation of a minor charges following a child pornography investigation earlier this month.  

According to a sheriff’s office news release, the sheriff’s office’s special victims unit began the investigation on April 2 after receiving six cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Following the investigation, sheriff’s office investigators, along with Homeland Security agents, executed a search warrant at a home in Greer belonging to Jake Ryan Cooke.

Agents and investigators found several images of child pornography during the search and obtained a confession from Cooke.

Cooke was arrested and charged with 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
