Greer man killed, passenger hospitalized after motorcycle crash

GREENVILLE Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A motorcyclist was killed and a passenger hurt in a crash on Wade Hampton Boulevard.

Troopers say it happened around 5:10 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Cherokee Drive. 

Lance Cpl. Justin Sutherland with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the motorcycle was headed north on Wade Hampton Boulevard when it struck an SUV traveling in the opposite direction in the intersection. 
The driver was thrown from the motorcycle. 

Both he and a passenger were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where the motorcyclist later died of his injuries.

The motorcycle driver is identified as Wesley Eugene Sosebee, 39, of Greer. 

The passenger’s condition was not immediately known.

Troopers say neither were wearing helmets at the time.

A man and woman from Landrum were in the SUV in the traffic accident. 

Troopers say they were not hurt.

There are no charges in the accident.
