Gun found in grass near Christian school in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A gun was found in the grass near Eddlemon Adventist School, according to Spartanburg Police.

A person cutting the grass found the weapon around 8:15 a.m. Sunday. 

The man said he was weed eating and say a mark in the grass so he walked over and found weapon. 

He said he didn’t touch it and called 911.

Police say they found a Smith & Wesson SD40 VE with a live round in the chamber and two more in the magazine.

They ran the serial number on the gun and it was not reported stolen.
