SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A deputy directing school traffic was directed to a gun found lying on a Spartanburg County road.
A sheriff’s office report said a deputy was directing traffic at Boiling Springs Elementary School on Tuesday afternoon when they were flagged down by a concerned citizen.
The citizen reported finding a gun in the road near Boiling Springs Library on Double Bridge Road.
According to the report, the deputy recovered a .380 caliber Glock 42 found lying partly in the road near the library. An empty holster was also nearby.
That’s not the only gun found along a busy road in Spartanburg County.
An officer with Livesay Correctional Work Release was out with a trash pick-up crew that discovered a gun along Interstate 26 on Monday morning.
The loaded revolver was found near woods about halfway down the entrance ramp from Highway 92 to I-26 East in Enoree, according to a sheriff’s office report.
A deputy noted in the report that four hollow-point rounds were in the cylinder. A holster was also found beside the gun.
Both guns were collected by deputies.
