Half of Americans hide holiday spending from their significant other, survey finds


(WSPA) – According to a new survey from Swagbucks, almost half of Americans admit that their spouse or significant other does not know how much they spend on holiday shopping. 

The national survey of 1,000 U.S. adults was conducted online by Prodege in November 2018.

·        49 percent of men say they set the budget, while 70 percent of women say that they are in charge

·        85 percent of women say they do all of the shopping, while 46 percent of men said they are the primary shoppers

·        16 percent of men acknowledged that their partner does most of the shopping, as opposed to only 1 percent of women who say their partner is the primary shopper

·        12 percent of women and 30 percent of men say they share the holiday shopping duties about equally
