Help police ID suspect in SunTrust Bank armed robbery in Asheville


ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Asheville Police Department officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in armed bank robbery on Wednesday.

According to a news release from the police department, the armed robbery took place at SunTrust Bank, located at 2397 Hendersonville Road around 1 p.m.

Police said a man went into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.

According to the release, the note suggested that the man had a gun, but he never pulled out a weapon.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.

The man is described as being in his 50s.
