GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – A man has been arrested after a hidden camera was found inside a room he had rented out on Airbnb, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

59-year-old Douglas Albert Manor is charged with peeping tom, according to deputies.

The Sheriff’s Office says he recorded victims during their stay at the property on Little Texas Road near Travelers Rest on August 8.

According to the warrant, a woman found a black recording device and USB charger in the bedroom. The victims had been renting the room since August 6.

Manor is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing.

Airbnb told 7News in August that the Travelers Rest host has been permanently banned from the platform and they are fully supporting the guest.

The company also says there have been more than 300 million guest arrivals in Airbnb and negative incidents are “extremely rare.”

Airbnb issued the following statement on August 14:

Airbnb takes privacy extremely seriously and there is absolutely no place in our community for this kind of behavior. This host has been permanently banned from our platform and we are fully supporting our guest. Our team has also reached out to law enforcement to offer our assistance. Surveillance devices are never permitted in private spaces, such as bathrooms, bedrooms, or other sleeping areas. There have been over 300 million guest arrivals in Airbnb listings to date and negative incidents are extremely rare.
