Hotel guests pull N.Y. man’s body from pool, Greenville Co. officials investigating

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office have been investigating after a man was found unresponsive in a hotel pool. 

According to the coroner’s office, David Alexander Rodrigues, 39, of New York, N.Y., was found at about 6:45 p.m. floating and unresponsive in the pool at the Best Western Hotel on Pelham Road.

Rodrigues was pulled out of the water by other guests, according to the coroner’s office.   

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office. The cause of death has not been determined at this time.

Rodrigues was staying at the hotel by himself, the coroner’s office said. 

Greenville County EMS and the Boiling Spring Fire Department responded to the scene. 

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate this case.
