UPDATE – BODY FOUND ON PROPERTY – DETAILS HERE
WOODRUFF, SC (WSPA) – Investigators are releasing details on how they found kidnapping victim Kala Brown.
Brown was found “chained like a dog” in a 30 x 15 metal container on a property on Wofford Road in Woodruff, Thursday.
The solicitor said she was chained inside the cargo container by her neck and ankle.
There was a living space next door to the container that had a bed with chains attached to it.READ: WOMAN FOUND “CHAINED LIKE DOG” IN WOODRUFF
Brown and her boyfriend Charles Carver have been missing from Anderson County since August 31.
Anderson Police Chief Jim Stewart said they were pinging Brown’s phone two days after she was reported missing.
He says it pinged on the property where Brown was found. The phone went dead after two days.
Two weeks before they were able to get a search warrant for the property, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office flew over the property and realized they needed to get on the ground.
Anderson police say from early on they had no indication there was foul play, even with the cell phone pings.
Brown told the sheriff there could be four bodies on the property.
They have not found Brown’s boyfriend Charles Carver.
Brown told deputies that she saw Kohlhepp shoot him, according to the solicitor.
A body was found in a shallow grave on Kohlhepp’s property, according to Sheriff Wright.
He says they don’t know if the body is a man or a woman at this point.MAN IN CUSTODY

Todd Kohlhepp, 45, was on the property when they served the search warrant.
He is listed as property owner of the land where deputies are searching.
Kohlhepp is charged with kidnapping and the solicitor says he is confident that Kohlhepp will also be charged with murder.
He is listed as a sex offender on the S.C. registry for a 1987 conviction in Arizona for kidnapping.
Court documents show Todd Kohlhepp was 15 when he was accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.READ: What we know about the man in custody in Woodruff kidnapping, details of convictionMAN STILL MISSING
Brown’s boyfriend, Charles David Carver, 32, is still missing.
Friends and family say Carver’s Facebook page had strange posts on it.
Before the page was deleted, cryptic messages were posted and sent from someone.
Families believe his account was hacked by another person.

“That’s not him saying something like that,” Bobbie Newsom, Kala’s mom, said when the posts began. She believed her daughter was in danger, but hoped for the best. “I love you baby girl. We are worried about you. this is unlike you. If you see this, just call somebody. anybody.”
Anderson police say they watched the posts, but haven’t directly connected them to the couple’s disappearance.READ: Cryptic Facebook messages sent from Carver’s account after he went missing
