GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Wednesday morning, Make-A-Wish South Carolina can now grant three more wishes, thanks to a $25,000 donation from the Harvey Hubbell Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hubbell Inc.
Hubbell, Inc., parent company to Hubbell Lighting and Hubbell Power Systems, has been in partnership with Make-A-Wish South Carolina for years.
Hubbell Lightning President Kevin Poyk said this donation helps both companies expand their partnership.
“We’re overwhelmed to be part of it, and the fact that we have a foundation like Harvey Hubbell Foundation to be able to move forward with this is huge for us,” Poyk said.
To help celebrate the occassion, Make-A-Wish South Carolina asked wish kid David Sprache and his family to accept the check on behalf of the charity.
Make-A-Wish sent the Spraches to Disney World four years ago after David was diagnosed with a form of cancer.
The family said they wanted to give back to an organization that gave so much, so being ambassadors felt like the right thing to do.
“It’s being very special because I’m a very special man,” David Spraches said.
