BLACKSBURG, SC (WSPA) – Cherokee Co. officials say they were notified about a human case of West Nile Virus by SCDHEC.

They say the response area is in the W. Pine St. area of Blacksburg and surrounding areas.

They say they will be spraying for mosquitoes Thursday evening.

They will also spray again in 10-14 days and treat storm drains and breeding areas with 45-day briquettes.

The county says there will also be door-to-door dissemination of public education materials as required by DHEC guidelines.
