GAFFNEY, SC (WSPA) – A human has tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to a report from SC DHEC.
Cherokee Co. says the area is near the southern part of the City of Gaffney and surrounding areas.
They say they will be using a spray truck to apply a mosquito control agent.
There will be a second application within 72 hours, if weather permits.
There will be additional applications in 10 – 14 day increments.
They will also be a larviciding treatment using 45 day briquettes in storm drains and obvious breeding areas.
County officials will also go door-to-door giving out education materials.
