Hundreds without power in Spartanburg Co.


SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Duke Energy reports that hundreds of customers remain without power in Spartanburg County.

According to the utility’s website, the power outage impacts 578 customers as of 7 a.m. Tuesday. Many of the outages are in the Duncan Park area. 

Duke Energy estimates power will be restored throughout the area by noon. 

Thousands of others across the Carolinas were reportedly without power after downpours moved through the area. 

Buncombe County appeared to be hard hit. 

Duke Energy reports 2,364 customers there were without power around 5 a.m. About two hours later, the number was reportedly down to 22 customers.
