Authorities are investigating the shootings of a husband and wife found dead in their home on Thursday evening.
Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller said family members checked on the couple at their Covered Bridge Road home. When they arrived, family found a broken iPad along the sidewalk near the home. No one answered when they knocked on the door, which was found unlocked.
Sheriff Mueller said the family members entered the home and found it disheveled and then went back outside to call law enforcement.
Deputies responded and found the couple dead in a bedroom, according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler.
The couple is idenfiied as Ronald D. Gallman, 71, and Linda C. Gallman, 68.
Fowler said it appeared that the couple died within a short time of each other on late Wednesday.
Sheriff Mueller said deputies aren’t currently searching for a suspect and said there’s no threat to the community.
Autopsies will be done to assist in the investigation.
