I-40 accident: All lanes back open, driver taken to hospital

Asheville Police tell us all lanes are back open on I-40 after an accident closed lanes for a while Wednesday morning.

Police say the driver of one of the cars involved was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It happened after an accident involving three vehicles closed lanes on I-40 EB near mile marker 47, around 6:30 a.m.

Police say a driver getting onto I-40 East from I-26 he pulled in front of a tree trimming truck on the exit ramp. He then flew over into the next lane to avoid the truck, but pulled right in front of an 18 wheeler.
