SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A unique work of art was just unveiled Wednesday morning in Morgan Square in downtown Spartanburg.

It features the American Sign Language signal for “I love you.”

For the last 15 months, students from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind worked together on the project.

Students were able to trace their handprints on metal for the design.

The project was made possible by funding through the South Carolina Arts in the Basic Curriculum Project and the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind Foundation.
