SPARTANBURG Co., SC (WSPA) — Inman First Baptist Church members raised the walls Thursday on the first Habitat for Humanity home in the Inman community.
The congregation committed to a full sponsorship of $70,000 as a way to reach out to the community and show the love of Jesus Christ, according to Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg.
“Inman First Baptist reached out to us some time ago and said they were saving funds for a Habitat home – they have worked and have met their goal and have been very excited to get started. This will be a wonderful day as we celebrate this milestone together,” Habitat Spartanburg Executive Director Lee Close said.
The lot on Second Street was donated by Inman Mills.
Construction is expected to take about three months.
