ASHEVILLE, SC (WSPA) – An inmate at the Buncombe County Detention Facility has died after officers found him unresponsive in his cell, Monday morning.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old Christopher Coe Boyd, Jr of Black Mountain was found after he did not come out of his cell for breakfast shortly after 6:00am.
Deputies say officers checked Boyd’s pulse and then began chest compressions.
The Sheriff’s Office says Boyd was being held for a Confinement in Response to Violation for three days related to felony probation.
