COLUMBIA, SC (WSPA) – An investigation has begun after an inmate was found dead in his cell Sunday at Broad River Correctional Institution.
According to the South Carolina Department of Corrections, 52-year-old Isaac Starke was found unresponsive in his cell at the Columbia prison.
The South Carolina Department of Corrections Police Services and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division will investigate his death.
Starke’s cause of death has not yet been released.
Starke was serving 15 years in prison for Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor and third degree Criminal Sexual Conduct in Aiken County.
