Investigation underway into armed robbery on E. Bearden St. in Greer, police say

GREER, SC (WSPA) – Greer Police Department officials said an investigation is underway into a reported armed robbery that happened Wednesday night.

According to Lt. Fortenberry, officers responded to an area of East Bearden Street at around 10:55 pm. in regards to a call about shots being fired.

After a check of the area, officers made contact with two victims of the robbery.

The victims told police that they were sitting in a vehicle parked on the road when they were approached by two people.

According to the victims, the two subjects told them to give them all of their money, and they complied with their demands.

The two people then ran from the scene and as they were running shots were fired at the victims’ vehicle, hitting it several times.

The victims were not injured in the gunfire.

Greer Police detectives then responded to the scene to begin an investigation.

Fortenberry said the police department’s criminal investigation division are continuing to follow up on leads in the case.
