SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A jewelry store was burglarized early Wednesday morning in Spartanburg.
According to a Spartanburg Police Department report, officers responded to Rufus D. Lewis Jeweler, located at 139 Fernwood Drive, in reference to a business alarm.
When officers arrived on-scene they found the window next to the door shattered, as well as saw three pieces of jewelry on the ground.
The inside door of the business was also cracked and the officer called in for extra officers to set up a perimeter.
Spartanburg County deputies and a K-9 also responded to help track the suspects.
The store owner arrived on-scene and officers asked if they could look at surveillance video inside the store.
Officers saw multiple jewelry items on the ground and a broken display case.
Surveillance video showed two suspects — a man and a woman.
The man was wearing a blue hoodie, blue bleached spotted pants, gloves and a shirt that covered his face.
The woman was dressed in a black hoodie, wearing leggings and a shirt that covered her face.
Both were seen grabbing several items from the store and officers saw the man grab one of the bus displays.
After grabbing more items, the two suspects left the store.
The K-9 officer was unable to track the suspects further than the Rite Aid parking lot on 1811 E. Main St.
