Jonesville man charged with attempted murder in shooting

SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A man is accused of riddling a home with bullets in a drive-by shooting in Enoree. Paul Leon Lipsey, 55, of Jonesville has been charged with attempted murder and weapons crimes. Spartanburg County deputies responded Saturday to a drive-by shooting on Buncombe Road. One victim reported he heard several shots before he saw Lipsey hanging out the window of a truck at the end of the driveway.The victim told deputies he recognized Lipsey who drove by the home again before heading towards Union County on Highway 146, according to an incident report.A deputy found six bullet holes in the front of the house, along with six holes in the back of the house.Another victim said Lipsey sent her a text message in which he threatened to shoot up her house, the report states. Lipsey has been charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a violent felony. Lipsey remains in the Spartanburg County Detention Center under a $30,000 bond, according to jail records.
