CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – State Representative and Republican Nominee for Congress Katie Arrington has been released from MUSC following serious car accident that occurred two weeks ago.
Dr. Avery Buchholz recommended during the press conference that Arrington take it easy and rest during her recovery.
On June 24, dozens gathered at St. Phillips Church to not only pray for Katie Arrington, but for her friend Jackie Goff, as well as the family of the deceased.
It’s exactly what Arrington has been asking everyone to do from her hospital room
At the same time those prayers were being said, Arrington was on the operating table for the second time. This surgery addressed the fracture in her back.
Those from both sides of the aisle came together to pray for someone they say is a human first, not just a politician.
Traffic Investigators have determined that a few minutes prior to the fatality, Helen White was involved in a hit and run collision a few miles south of the fatality collision, according to spokesman Roger Antonio.
Investigators believe that Helen was initially operating her vehicle on SC Highway 174 and turned right into the southbound lanes of US Highway 17.
The son of Helen White, Samuel, stated to authorities on scene of the accident that his mother had trouble seeing at night following the crash that injured congressional candidate Katie Arrington.
The incident report from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office stated, when arriving on scene they found the White’s Pontiac Bonneville, with heavy front-end damage in the southbound lane, which was which was Helen’s vehicle. The Hyundai Elantra, which was operated by Jacqueline Goff, had heavy front-end damage facing west on the right shoulder of the southbound side of the roadway, the report added.
