SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Kim Kardashian West is taking the steps necessary to become a lawyer in the next three years.
Kardashian West revealed her legal aspirations to Vogue magazine in a profile released Wednesday, saying she plans to take the bar exam by 2022.
According to TMZ, she’s even started a four-year apprenticeship at a San Francisco-based law firm.
“The White House called me to advise to help change the system of clemency,” she told Vogue, “and I’m sitting in the Roosevelt Room with, like, a judge who had sentenced criminals and a lot of really powerful people and I just sat there, like, Oh, sh*t. I need to know more.”
Kardashian West is credited for the release of former inmate Alice Marie Johnson in June of last year, and even paid a visit to President Trump to talk about prison reform.
California is apparently one of four states that offer another path to passing the bar if one did not finish college, in Kardashian West’s case.
It’s known as “reading the law,” or apprenticing with a practicing lawyer or judge.
Kardashian West says so far her first year of law school encompasses studying “criminal law, torts and contracts.”
“Took my first test, I got a 100. Super easy for me. The reading is what really gets me. It’s so time-consuming. The concepts I grasp in two seconds,” she told Vogue.
According to the magazine, Kardashian West is scheduled to meet with Governor Gavin Newsom next week to discuss an inmate who is not up for parole until 2021.
