Large abandoned warehouse catches fire in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – A fire broke out at a large abandoned warehouse in Asheville, Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Asheville Fire Department, the fire broke out around 1:00pm at the warehouse on Simpson Street.

Part of the roof of the building collapsed, according to the department.

Firefighters were unable to enter the building due to the unstable condition of the structure.

Nobody was hurt in the fire.

Crews will return to the warehouse in the morning to reevaluate conditions and perform a secondary search.
