Little girl gets Wonder Woman prosthetic leg

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Greenville Shriners Hospital patient Penny is a real life Wonder Woman.

Penny is a survivor of fibular hemimelia, a birth defect of the fibula that can cause limb length discrepancies. The affected limb is often amputated to allow for the use of a prosthetic.

Penny received a Wonder Woman themed prosthetic from Pediatric Orthotics and Prosthetic Services (POPS) at Greenville Shriners Hospital. POPS creates kid-friendly orthotics and prosthetics that a hospital spokeswoman said are designed to “inspire children and make them excited to wear their life-changing devices.”

Penny is now ready to take on whatever comes her way.
