GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – One person has died and two others were taken to the hospital after a two-car head-on crash Tuesday in Greenville County.

The crash happened just after 5:00 p.m. on Belvue Road near US-25, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a Nissan was headed westbound on Belvue Road when a Toyota headed in the opposite direction crossed the center line and struck the Nissan head-on.

The driver of the Nissan died at the scene of the crash.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Claude Earl Jones, Jr., 55, of Travelers Rest.

Both people in the Toyota were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for their injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
